| Social work students benefit by classroom instruction and field placements. |
The Bachelor of Social Work degree is designed to develop a broad range of diverse skills and theoretical perspectives that may be used in a variety of job settings. The program is available both on Dalhousie’s campus and via distance delivery. Our graduates are qualified to practice social work throughout Canada and elsewhere.
The Master of Social Work is a five full-credit degree program. It provides students with advanced professional education leading to the development of specialized social work practice and leadership positions in the practice field.
Field Education — the opportunity to take education out of the classroom and into the community — is an integral part of both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Moreover, both the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degree programs are offered through distance delivery via the Internet. Studying by distance offers students an opportunity to study in their home community with the ability to continue to work and participate in family and community life.
