| Committed to Social Justice — Dalhousie's School of Social Work. |
The School of Social Work is committed to building a socially just society, defined as one that upholds and validates the values of quality, diversity, inclusiveness, democracy and concern for human welfare. Our BSW and MSW programs reflect this commitment.
Students interested in our BSW program may apply once they have completed 5 full university credits. Prospective students may consider taking liberal arts courses in subject areas such as sociology, psychology, political science and women's studies. Prospective students may also consider volunteering in community activities or with human service agencies in your community to gain experience and to learn if social work is the right choice for you.
Our MSW program provides students with advanced professional education leading to the development of specialized social work practice and leadership positions in the practice field. Prospective students must have completed a BSW degree and have two years of social work experience prior to applying to the MSW program.
